When New Threatens the old.
When the time comes for something new that seemingly must enter our daily life such as a new technology or a widely new way of looking at social norms. The human experience typically will fight against this change to the bitter end. Leaving more and more people behind only due to their inactivity by stammering about instead of being the generally curious creature we biologically have come to be. People focus so much on their creature comforts they often forget that the human existence and society at large resembles much that of a single ant hill. A conglomerate of a relatively small portion of the whole species. Acting accordingly by certain guidelines or well wishes where we find our little pocket of peace and try to make the best of it. The world however will continue to adapt accordingly as it ever expands on an already growing platform where in recent memory with scientific breakthroughs. Show us that almost certainly the sky is indeed the limit of human inention.
We have technology that is well beyond far fetched by the standards of that just twenty years ago. We as people are striving for something familiar but downplay the fact that we as a society have generated some of the most incredible marvels we’ll ever see in our lifetime. All but with a few engineers and a handful of computer scientists enacting on what we already believed to be impossible. Turning fiction into reality and engrossing the minds of the next generation of what to look forward to.
That next generation will be significant more prepared for life when it comes time for them to embark upon the working class world. However they also have come to find out with this new inundation of technology they must also have to re-learn the social skills of yesteryear. Anxiety is through the roof across all different classes, depression is at an all time high, and relationships are growing fewer and fewer between with the inclusion of a dropping child rate. Economics, low pay, rising home costs all certainly have a major role to play. But what isn’t mentioned is the social structure itself of this new world potentially being a major player on the field as well. We can talk to anyone we want at a moments notice. Seemingly before we know we can even trust the digital representation of that person. The scales aren’t in the favor for longevity even with all the tools we have to use during this wild timeline.
Traditions are becoming more seldom and sentiment is becoming a safety blanket for many. The fear of rising to the occasion still lingers around more than ever. Some people are naturally more in line with advancing and accepting these rapid changes in the scope of their daily lives. While others and regrettably the majority it would seem. Struggle adapting to a potentially new and more exciting way of living. The two clash right at the corner of the past meeting the future. What is to be done in the interim then?
Well if history has anything to tell us is that the world is significantly more adaptable than us Meer humans claim to be. But the few humans who are excited about whatever might be lurking around every corner. By all means go full steam ahead. the world is literally built with you in mind during this day and age. The latter of those still wishing this was the nineties, seventies, or even earlier. All share a common theme. They want peace and quiet. Like a Hobbit does in The Lord of The Rings. Whether the world around them is in turmoil or great reprise they want nothing but what they’ve come to grow and love themselves. Certainly we all share some version of this sentiment somewhere within our souls.
Yet the ones who see a new chance or opportunity and go sprinting after it will eventually prosper more and maybe even become happier than those who continue to remain idle wishing tomorrow will be just like yesterday. While the rest off us eager fast running minded individuals will continue to have more sleepless nights and infuse our dreams with reality until they cohesively come together in some form or another. The world by and large will continue growing and adapting as we go on. Time and life wait for no one. Enjoy the small bits but whole heartedly understand that the new world is coming. We should choose to be ready for it for ourselves and our families. Seeing as how it’s only a matter of time, before it comes through our town regardless.
